Ado Ekiti - Gov. Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State has urged senators representing the state in the Senate to ensure that his predecessor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, who was nominated as a minister by President Muhammadu Buhari, has a hitch-free screening exercise, reports Today.
Fayose, who gave the directive when he received student leaders of Ekiti origin at the conference hall of the governor’s office on Wednesday, said the overall interest of the state must always come first before personal interest.

Fayose observed that all former ministers from the state had nothing to show for their time in the Federal Executive Council because of lack of support from their home base,
He noted that such must not be allowed to continue, hence, the need to support Fayemi’s nomination by all and sundry.
Fayose has accused Fayemi of running the state aground during his tenure as governor.
The screening of 21 ministerial nominees unveiled by Senate President Bukola Saraki during plenary on Tuesday, is to commence on October 13.
