Fear grips Saraki’s camp in Senate

22 September 2015, 11:25

Abuja - Fear has gripped some senators loyal to Senate President, Bukola Saraki over the warrant of arrest issued by the Code of Conduct Tribunal against him, reports The Nation.

Saraki  is facing a 13-count charge bordering on alleged corruption and false declaration of assets levelled against him by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).

Attempts to get the reactions of some of Saraki’s political allies on the matter met a brick wall.

Melaye, known widely as one of Saraki’s most vocal supporters, declined comment when contacted to speak on the matter.

Melaye is currently facing his own legal challenges in the Kabba/Lokoja Senatorial constituency where Senator Smart Adeyemi is seeking a reversal of Melaye’s victory in the 2015 senatorial elections.

Other senators loyal to Saraki refused to comment on the matter when contacted.
