Abuja - After a political career spanning almost five decades, former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Bamanga Tukur has announced his retirement from politics, reports Punch.
Tukur announced his retirement in Abuja on Tuesday at a lecture organised to mark his 80th birthday.

He stated that he is stepping aside from partisan politics for the younger generation.
He noted that at 80, he feels he can serve the country more in the capacity of a statesman and father figure.
