Fresh crisis hits PDP over planned reform conference

17 September 2015, 12:10

Abuja - A fresh crisis has hit the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over calls for reform in the party, reports Punch.

The fresh crisis is between the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) and key members of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) including elders of the party.

While the NWC  declared an indefinite postponement of a PDP National Reform Conference to reorganize the party, proponents of the reform conference, comprising elders and BoT members of the party have insisted on holding the conference.

The PDP national secretary, Professor Wale Oladipo had on Wednesday said that the NWC had stopped the conference committee from going on with its assignment

The elders of the party led by a former Minister of Information, Prof. Jerry Gana, described the move by the NWC to postpone the conference as highly provocative, adding that all the other organs of the party were behind the reform process.

The reform conference has been slated for October.
