Gov Nyako urges massive votes for PDP

21 November 2012, 13:06

Adamawa - Gov. Murtala Nyako of Adamawa on Wednesday appealed for “massive turn out and massive votes” for PDP candidates in the Saturday Local Government elections in the state.

Nyako, who made the appeal when he spoke with newsmen in Yola, said massive votes for PDP candidates would further enhance the delivery of more dividends of democracy to the people at the grass roots.

"I am calling on Adamawa people to come out en masse and vote massively for PDP candidates in the election coming up on Saturday,'' Nyako added.

He said the Supreme Court judgment  which upheld his victory was a victory for democracy and in line with the verdict of the people.

Nyako called on the opposition to join hands with his administration to transform the state.

He also called on PDP members in the state to work toward the unity of the party and embrace dialogue in resolving its recent leadership crisis.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that hundreds of PDP supporters trooped to Yola International Airport to welcome  the governor from Abuja.
