Governors, Alaibe boycott Sylva campaign inauguration

Abuja - There was apprehension among members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja following the absence of some of the governors of the party at the inauguration of the campaign committee of the party’s candidate in the December 5 governorship election, Timipre Sylva, reports New Telegraph.

Six out of the seven governors slated to be part of the campaign team failed to show up during the inauguration.

Governors Adams Oshiomhole (Edo), Abdulazeez Yari Abubakar (Yobe), Akinwunmi Ambode (Lagos), Kashim Shettima (Borno), Rochas Okorocha (Imo) and Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano) stayed away from the event.

Only Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State attended the inauguration.

Also absent at the inauguration were the former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Timi Alaibe; APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Timi Frank and nine other members of the campaign team.

The committee with 38 members is to be chaired by Oshiomhole with Abubakar as his deputy.

The secretary of the campaign team is a ministerial-designate, Senator Heineken Lokpobori. Lokpobori.
