Omu-Aran - The members of Kwara South Grassroots Youth Assembly in Omu-Aran, have lauded the appointment of Suleiman Ajadi, as Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly Matters.
The group, in a statement signed by Abiola Peters, the Coordinator and Ahmed Salami, Secretary, in Omu-Aran on Sunday described the appointment as a “deserving honour” to the people.
It expressed it’s believe that Ajadi would discharge his duties satisfactorily, while pledging to work for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015 general elections.
“We will remain indebted to President Goodluck Jonathan and his administration for a deserving honour done to our district for this important appointment.
“We are optimistic and hope that with all the necessary support, Ajadi will perform to the satisfaction of the government and Nigerians,” the statement added.
The group also expressed its support and solidarity with Sen. Simon Ajibola (PDP) currently representing the district in the National Assembly.
It described plan by some politicians to recall Ajibola from the Senate as an “exercise in futility”.
“Our attention has been drawn to news of attempt by some politicians calling for the recall of Sen. Simeon Ajibola from the National Assembly.”
”We want to state here categorically that the people of Kwara South, particularly the youth, are solidly behind the party and all its leaders from the district.”
“We remain committed to the success of our great party under President Goodluck Jonathan as we have seen no genuine reason to abandon the party at this critical period,” it said.
