Akure - The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ondo State has admitted irregularities in the election held into the House of Assembly Constituency II of Ilaje Local Government Area of the state, reports New Telegraph.
Segun Agbaje, Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, said from reports available to him, the election was marred by irregularities and violence.

Agbaje spoke on Thursday when he took the witness stand at the House of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Akure.
He said the election could not be declared inconclusive because of the security report on the safety of the INEC officers.
He said the electoral officers were advised to declare the result after seeking security advice from the then Commissioner of Police, Isaac Eke, who confirmed the situation.
