INEC to distribute permanent voter’s card

11 June 2013, 11:11

Abeokuta - The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will soon begin to distribute the permanent voter’s card ahead of the 2015 general elections, Prof. Lai Olurode, INEC National Commissioner, has said.

Olurode, the National Commissioner in-charge of Ogun, Oyo and Ekiti states, made the plan known in Abeokuta on Monday during a one- day visit to Abeokuta.

He said that the card would replace the temporary voters’ card issued during the 2011 general elections.

He said that the commission was making preparations to conduct gubernatorial elections in 2014 as well as the 2015 general elections.

The Commissioner visited INEC offices in Abeokuta North, Abeokuta South, and Odeda local government areas.

He also visited the South-West Zonal Data Storage Centre, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, where he charged the staff to be dedicated to their duties.
