Kebbi - The Chairman of Kebbi Independent Electoral Commission, Ada Kaoje, has assured political parties in the state of free, fair and transparent local government elections in September.
Kaoje gave the assurance in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday when she addressed ad hoc electoral officials and assistant electoral officers undergoing training for the elections.
She advised the trainees to ensure strict adherence to the electoral laws and to be impartial officers during the elections.
``We would not compromise anything and we are going to provide a level playing ground to every political party during the elections," she said.
She also warned the electoral officers against unpatriotic and selfish conduct.
``The commission will not relent in its professionalism and ability to manage and administer the electoral process efficiently and effectively through non-partisanship.’’
According to her, only accredited observers will be allowed to monitor the conduct of the election.
``The decision not to pay allowances to accredited observers and monitors was to ensure neutrality and objective criticisms," she stressed.
