31 July 2015, 06:52Okoro Chinedu

Lagos - The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Eze Madumere has congratulated newly-elected President of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Abdulwaheed Odusile.

He described Odusile as a professional whose years of experience would help steer the journalists’ body to greater heights.

He likened Odusile’s consistency in pursuit of opportunity to contribute his quota to the development of the profession to that of President Muhammadu Buhari who sought to bring change to governance in Nigeria.

Madumere expressed happiness Odusile understood the profession as the fourth estate of the realm.

He charged him and other members of the leadership to be courageous towards injecting discipline while ensuring that welfare and safety of the members were secure.

Madumere therefore commended the entire NUJ national delegates who participated in the last convention for conducting themselves in a responsible and peaceful manner during the keenly contested election.
