Abuja - Professor Attahiru Jega on Tuesday formally bowed out as the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after completing his 5-year tenure., reports Channels TV.
Jega assumed office on June 8, 2010 during the former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

He officially handed over the leadership of the commission to one of the National Commissioners, Ambassador Mohammad Wali, on Tuesday.
Jega, is leaving INEC with six National Commissioners whose tenure also expired on Tuesday.
The six National Commissioners were appointed the same day Jega was named the INEC Chairman.
