Dutse- The Jigawa Government on Thursday said it awarded foreign scholarship to 10 students who participated in the recent National Qur'anic Recitation Competition in Gusau.
Malam Usman Sulaiman, the Director of Schools Services, State Islamic Education Bureau, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse that the beneficiaries included five females.
The females are Farida Ahmad, Fatima Shehu, Afnan Al-Hassan, Fatima Umar and Fatima Muhammad.
The director said four of the male students would go to Al-Azahar University Cairo, for their first degree, while Kabir Zubair would go to Malaysia.
Sulaiman said the five females would go to African International University Khartoum, Sudan.
He said the female students would pursue degrees in Sharia Law, while their male counterparts would pursue courses of their choice.
