Abuja - Five out of the seven ministers who resigned from President Goodluck Jonathan cabinet to contest in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship elections of their respective states have so far been defeated, reports NewsDay.
The five former ministers are Labaran Maku, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu, Samuel Ortom, Musiliu Obanikoro and Emeka Wogu.
Maku, the ex-Information Minister was defeated in Nasarawa State by a businessman Yusuf Agabi while Chukwu, the ex- Health Minister was defeated in Ebonyi State by Dave Umahi .

The ex-Minister of Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro was defeated by Jimi Agbaje in Lagos while Wogu, the former Labour Minister lost to Okezie Ikpeazu in Abia State.
The two other ministers who resigned on 15 October were Nyesom Wike and Darius Ishaku.
Wike has already secured the PDP’s ticket for Rivers State while Ishaku's fate still hangs in the balance as he will face a former acting governor, Garba Umar in the Taraba gubernatorial primary election.
