Abuja - Ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries, President Goodluck Jonathan has directed cabinet members who have political ambitions to resign from office, reports NewsDay.
Most of those affected are ministers who plan to contest governorship elections in their states.
Disclosing the President’s directive, Minister of Information, Labaran Maku said the President has given the ministers up till October 20 to tender their resignations.
Maku is also affected by the directive as he is eyeing the governorship seat in his state , Nasarawa.

Others who are eyeing governorship seats are Senator Bala Mohammed (Federal Capital Territory), Emeka Wogu (Labour), Nyesom Wike (State, Education), Dr. Samuel Ortom (State, Trade, Industry and Investment) and Senator Musiliu Obanikoro (State, Defence).
