Kaduna Assembly denies plan to remove Speaker

Kaduna - The Kaduna State House of Assembly on Friday dismissed the rumour of plans by the legislators to remove the Speaker, Alhaji Muazu Gangara.

The Chairman of the Assembl's Committee on Information, Alhaji Yakubu Yusuf told newsmen in Kaduna that there was no rift between them and the speaker.

"It is an unfounded rumour. There is no rift between the members and the speaker to warrant such action.

"The speaker has been running the affairs of the house without bias and with all sense of responsibility, and we are satisfied.

" He has never shown any form of discrimination or favouratism between the members of PDP and those in the CPC.

"He regards us as representatives of our people and gives us the respect and encouragement to do our job," Yusuf said.

The Assembly spokesman advised the media against peddling rumours, and to alway investigate issués before going public.

He stressed the determination of the House to discharge its responsibilities in the best intrest of the people, and for the growth and development of the state.
