Kano - The All Progressives Congress on Thursday forwarded the name of Governor Rabiu Kwankwas of Kano State to the Independent National Electoral Commission as one of its senatorial candidates for the February 14 National Assembly elections, reports Daily Trust.
Kwankwaso, who lost in his bid to pick the presidential ticket of the APC, is among the nine governors who have secured their parties’ tickets to run for Senate in 2015.

Other governors whose names have been forwarded to (INEC are Governors Godswill Akpabio (Akwa Ibom), Isa Yuguda (Bauchi), Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto), Gabriel Suswam (Benue), Saidu Dakingari (Kebbi), Jonah Jang (Plateau), Babangida Aliyu (Niger), and Theodore Orji (Abia).
Two governors eyeing the Senate, however, missed out as their names were missing from the list of candidates for the election.
The governors are Sullivan Chime of Enugu and Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta.
