Kwara APC officials express interest in general election

Abuja - The aspiring candidates of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Katsina State have declared their intention to contest for the 2015 governorship election.

State Chairman of the party, Dr Mustapha Mohammed, confirmed the interest.
He said among the hopefuls  include Senator Habu Ibrahim, Senator Sadiq Yar’adua and Ambassador Garba Aminchi.

Others include, Mannir Yakubu, Sada Ilu, Senator Kanti Bello, Samaila Isa Funtua, Aminu Masari, Abdul’aziz Musa Yar’adua and Usman Bugaje.
According to Mohammed, the party will ensure equal treatment among all the contestants to ensure success of the party during the general election.

“All the contestants have agreed to work together and give all necessary support to any contestants who emerged winner during the forthcoming party’s primary election in the state,” he said.
He said stakeholders of the party had meeting with all the aspirants with a successful outcome.

“We met with all the contestants and the outcome of our meeting was successful and encouraging”.
The Chairman said the stakeholders meeting was convened to discuss issues that would ensure unity of the party and bring all members of the party under one umbrella.
“The meeting brought together all members of the party for the first time, we will continue to hold similar meeting for unity and progress of the party,” Mohammed said.
