Kwara speaker calls for overhaul of aviation sector

17 December 2012, 07:33

Ilorin - The Speaker of Kwara House of Assembly, Rasaq Atunwa, on Sunday called for overhaul of the nation’s aviation sector to curb constant loss of lives.

Atunwa made the call in a condolence message signed by his Special Assistance (Media), AbdulRahman Sanni, and sent to the family of late Gov. Patrick Yakowa of Kaduna State and the former National Security Adviser to the President,  Andrew Azazi .

The speaker described the loss of lives in plane crashes as worrisome, and called for total overhaul of the sector.

He expressed regrets that the two eminent personalities who were involved in the helicopter crash had contributed immensely to the unity and stability of the country.

He described their demise as a rude shock.

Atunwa urged the families of the deceased to take solace in the fact that they lived useful life, and prayed to God to grant them internal rest and their families the fortitude to bear the loss
