LP, APGA condole with Agagu’s family

05 October 2013, 17:22

Awka - The Labour Party(LP) on Saturday condoled with the family of late Gov. Olusegun Agagu and Ondo State Government over the crash plane carrying the remains of Agagu.

Chairman of the party in Anambra, Chief Sam Oraegbunam, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka that the crash was a double tragedy to Ondo state and Nigeria as a whole.

“We are deeply touched by the crash; we mourn with the Agagu’s family, government and people of Ondo and Nigerians. We pray for quick recovery of those injured.”

APGA Chairman in the state, Chief Mike Kwetoh, described the crash as a national loss.

“It is yet another reminder for aviatin operators to look inwards and ensure that aircraft are properly maintained to ensure safety of passengers.”

Kwetoh urged government to reform the sector to meet the internationally acceptable standard for promotion of safety in the nation's airspace.
