LP inaugurates c’ttee for Edo governorship election

Benin City - The Labour Party has kick started its campaign for the 2016 governorship election in Edo State, reports National Mirror.

The party has constituted a nine-man committee to re-organise  the party ahead of the election.

The mandate of the committee include bringing back old members of the party, recruitment of new members, sourcing for a credible gubernatorial candidate for the party as well as conduct congresses at local government and state levels.

The committee, which will be chaired by Sam Omokaro has a 90-day deadline to complete its assignment.

Inaugurating the committee, LP National Vice-Chairman, South- South,  Bobo Atari Adou, said that the creation of the committee by the National Executive Council (NEC) of the party became necessary following the expiration of the tenure of the State Working Committee (SWC) of the party.

Other members of the committee are Johnson Idahor, deputy chairman, Edo South; Idemudia Agbonaye, deputy chairman, Edo Central; and K. M. E. Mohammed, deputy chairman, Edo North.

The others are Akhere Fredrick, secretary; Uwangue Fred, treasurer; Sam Atoe, Youth Leader; Aina Adedeji, Woman Leader and Maltilda Oviawe as Deputy Woman Leader.
