LP kick-starts governorship campaign in Anambra

Awka - The Labour Party in Anambra state is kicking off its governorship campaign on September 12, in preparation for the governorship poll.

Sam Oraegbunam, the party's chairman in Anambra, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka on Wednesday and said rally would hold at the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Onitsha. .

Oraegbunam said that the party’s manifesto and governorship candidate, Dr Ifeanyi Ubah, would be presented to the people of the state at the event.

“Dr Ifeanyi Ubah will kick-start his campaign and present his manifesto to the people of the state.

“Our plan for Anambra is all round development experienced in a different way. We want to replicate what is happening in Ondo state in Anambra.

“Labour Party government will be truthful to the people. We will conduct Local Government polls to bring government nearer to the masses,” he said.

Oraegbunam said that Gov. Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo and the legislators, elected under the platform of the party across the country, would grace the occasion.

NAN reports that the governorship poll  is slated for Nov. 16.
