Lagos - The Lagos House of Assembly on
Monday confirmed the appointment of Alhaji Abdullahi Kabir as the Executive
Secretary, Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission.
The Assembly also confirmed the appointment of Mr Fouad Oki as the
Director-General, Lagos State Safety Commission.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the lawmakers took turns to
affirm that the nominees were qualified for the offices designated for them,
through comments on the nominees and voice votes.

The Speaker of the Assembly, Mr Mudashiru Obasa , who testified to the conduct
of Kabir, said that the nominee would make water available to residents.
Mr Olawale Olayiwola (APC-Mushin II), also said that Kabir’s integrity was not
in doubt and he was a right person for the post.
On his part, Mr Abidun Tobun (APC-Epe 1), urged Kabir to assist Lagos residents
in making potable water available.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the lawmakers also urged Oki to
assist in improving safety of lives and property in the state.
Obasa, following confirmation of the duo, directed the Clerk of the House to
convey the approval to Gov. Akinwumi Ambode.
The Assembly adjourned till Tuesday.
