04 December 2014, 16:26

Lagos - The Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Bayo Adeyeye has lost in his re-election bid to return to the House in 2015.

Adeyeye was defeated on Wednesday by Tunde Braimoh in the re-scheduled primary election in Kosofe Constituency 2.

Announcing the result on Wednesday, the Electoral Officer, Kunle Ogunbela, said that Braimoh polled 230 of the 413 votes cast.

Adeyeye, who is the Leader of the House, polled 173 votes.

Another aspirant, Olojo Kosoko, polled one vote while Oluwole Ogunleye got three votes.

Six votes were voided.

Braimoh, a former Chairman of Ikosi/Ketu Local Government Area of the state, described the election as free and fair and thanked the party members for giving him an opportunity to serve Lagos State.

He promised adequate and quality representation of his constituency, if successful in the general elections.
