Abuja - Members of the House of Representatives have begun intense lobby to be appointed as Chairmen of key standing committees, reports Daily Trust.
Some of the ranking members who headed juicy committees in the Seventh Assembly are fighting desperately to retain their committees, just as loyalists of the Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara are seeing the committees as payback time for working for his emergence.

The committees most desired by the lobbyists include committees on appropriation, finance, House services and welfare, defence, public accounts, education, army, air force, navy, petroleum (upstream and downstream), marine transport, customs and excise, FCT, works and health.
Also on the juicy list are foreign affairs, MDGs, NDDC, pensions, power, public procurement, housing and habitat.
