Melaye accuses Tinubu of plotting against him

06 July 2015, 12:18

Abuja - Senator Dino Melaye has accused the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu of offering support for Senator Smart Adeyemi, who is currently challenging his electoral victory at the Court of Appeal, reports Punch.

Melaye, who represents Kogi West Senatorial District in the Senate, is the spokesperson of Senators who belong to the Like Minds group in the National Assembly.

Melaye on Sunday noted that Tinubu had contacted the immediate-past Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke (SAN), to take over the legal battle on behalf of Adeyemi.

He stated that Tinubu, has allegedly forwarded the legal brief filed by Senator Adeyemi to Adoke, asking the ex-AGF to look for a Judge in the Court of Appeal that would offer assistance.

Melaye is said to have incurred the wrath of Tinubu after refusing to back down from supporting the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, during the recently concluded election of leaders in the 8th National Assembly.
