Abuja - The military has warned the public against impersonating troops assigned for security during the Osun State governorship election on Saturday 9 August 2014.
A statement from the Defense Headquarters said security had been tightened to apprehend such elements.
"Any attempt to impersonate or fake troops assigned for security duties in support of Osun elections will be detected and apprehended promptly," read a statement.
"Tight identity codes are in place to mark those on duty during the Exercise. Commanders on ground will enforce this," the statement read.
It added that all suspicious dressing or impersonation of troops would be dealt with.
"There is no cause for alarm. We wish all a hitch free election"
