Abuja - There are indications that Thursday's meeting of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may be full of agitations and counter agitations following accusations that some NEC members were bribed with N200 million to support a particular candidate for the position of the party’s National Chairman, reports New Telegraph.
Some members of the party from the North-east geo-political zone have been accused of distributing huge sums of money as bribe to key NEC members since Wednesday night to ensure that they voted for a candidate of their choice from the zone.

The position has been zoned to the North-East zone
A prominent member from the zone was said to be in charge of the distribution of the largesse.
The bribery allegation has already created division among party members.
Some aggrieved members have vowed not to recognize any new Chairman who emerges through bribery.
They noted that the use of bribe to project the North-East candidate is against the new rebuilding spirit in the party, which is in dire need of cleaning up its image in the eyes of the public.
