NCP for Ekiti governorship election in June

14 January 2014, 13:34

Ado-Ekiti - The National Conscience Party (NCP), has declared its readiness to participate in the governorship election in Ekiti State in June.

The National Chairman of the Party, Dr Tanko Yinusa dropped the hint at the Special Convention of the State chapter of the party in Ado-Ekiti on Monday.

According to him, the NCP, in continued pursuit of the vision of its founder father, late Chief Gani Fawehinmi, would strive to eradicate poverty.

“It will also strive to bring the rich and the poor at par in terms of living standards and equality if elected into office.”

He berated those angling for the return of two-party system in the country, saying they were enemies of the people.

Yinusa also berated INEC for de-registering some political parties for not winning any seat in past elections.

He said, “instead of killing such parties, INEC should have put money into them to make them stronger.”

“It is not fair for INEC to use public money to fund some parties and isolate others considered to be weak.”

Earlier, the Acting Chairman of the party, in the state, Olakunle Omotayo, called on Ekiti people to support the party “so as to deliver the state from the circle of mismanagement and oppression.”
