NCP ready for Anambra governorship election

19 September 2013, 12:29

Abuja - The National Chairman, National Conscience Party (NCP), Alhaji Yinusa Tanko, said the party was ready for the governorship election in Anambra.

Tanko said this in Abuja on Thursday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)

“We are fully prepared for the election, we are happy at the level of preparations.”

“We had conducted our primaries and it was overwhelmingly participated by the 21 local governments in the state.”

Tanko said during the primary credible candidate emerged for the state governorship election while a state chairman emerged during the state congress.

He said if elected the party would give special attention to the welfare of people at the grassroots.

Tanko advised politicians to exhibit good conduct during the local government elections in Cross river, Plateau, and Nasarawa states.

“The people at the grassroots are supposed to be the target of all political parties, so the local government elections are very important.”

According to him, the NCP will ensure the conduct of primaries in the three states within a week or more in order to have candidates for the local government elections.
