Kano - Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State on Thursday charged the newly elected council chairmen in the state to justify the confidence reposed in them by the electorate.
Kwankwaso gave the charge at the inauguration of the local government chairmen in Kano.
The governor expressed confidence that the chairmen would deliver and warned them against misappropriation of public funds.
He also tasked them to work selflessly to uphold the tenets of transparency.
Kwankwaso promised to give them free hand to perform their statutory responsibility of improving the lives of the people.
The governor commended the people of the state for the peaceful election and urged the chairmen to reciprocate the gesture through hard work.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, the chairman of Kabo Local Government Area, Murtala Garo, pledged that they would improve on the living condition of the rural dwellers.
