Ekiti- Peter Obafemi, an aspiring Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Ekiti governorship elections, has been cleared to contest's the party's primaries.
He will be one of several PDP members to contest the primary election scheduled for this weekend.
Olisa Metuh, PDP National Publicity Secretary of the party, confirmed Obafemi was cleared to contest.
"After a careful review of procedures, processes and documentation as properly submitted, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued final clearance to Peter Obafemi to contest in the scheduled PDP primary for the Ekiti State governorship election," Metuh stated.
He said Obafemi was now free to join other aspirants to campaign and participate in the congresses and the subsequent governorship primary.
The winner of the primary elections will represent the ruling party in the governorship election slated for June.
