Okorocha begs Udenwa, Ihedioha to join APC

03 November 2015, 13:21

Owerri - Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has urged a former governor of the State, Achike Udenwa and the immediate Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Emeka Ihedioha, to join the ruling All Progressives Congress in order to advance the cause of the South-East, reports Sun.

He noted that if Ihedioha had contested the Senate position under the APC platform, he would have emerged as the Senate President having already been a principal officer of the House of Representatives.

Okorocha, who spoke on Monday during an interactive forum with newsmen at the Government House, said it was unfortunate that Ndigbo had been edged out of the political dispensation.

The governor pleaded with people of the South East to jettison religious and ethnic sentiments and support the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, stressing that as long as political power now resides in the North, the hope of the region producing the President of the country will come to fruition.

Okorocha, the chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum, said it was time for the Igbo to support the APC as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has failed the region with no federal projects completed in the zone in the 16 years.
