Former Ondo Governor Agagu dies after vacation

14 September 2013, 14:36

Akure - Former Governor Olusegun Agagu of Ondo State died on Friday in Ibadan, barely 24 hours after returning from a vacation in the United States.

Ebenezer Alabi, chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, confirmed the death of the former.
"I received the news of his death as a great shock because we spoke extensively at 10:00 today (Friday).

"He made jokes and we planned to meet later next week to discuss how to reposition our party in Ondo State.

"So, you can imagine my shock when his brother, Femi Agagu, confirmed to me that the former governor slumped and died at his Ibadan residence at about 18:00," Alabi said.

Ayo Fadaka, Director of Publicity of the state PDP, said that Agagu had been in good health and  had also been keeping tab on party operatives, after returning from vacation.
