Ondo PDP criticises NWC negotiation with Mimiko

08 October 2014, 13:40

Akure - The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the process leading to the defection of Governor Olusegun Mimiko from the Labour Party to the PDP, reports Daily Post.

The party in the state said it is not happy with the way selected leaders of the party at the national level handled the defection of the Governor.

Ayo Fadaka, the party’s Publicity Director in the state, said the process was executed with a lot of disrespect to the State's party Chairman, Ebenezer Alabi and members of the State Working Committee (SWC).

He said the party in the state rejects all negotiations purportedly entered into on its behalf without its direct input and blessings.

He said the SWC should have been consulted before a final decision on Mimiko was taken by leaders of the party in Abuja

He noted that the party was already set on a winning course before Mimiko’s decision to join the party.
