Ondo PDP leaders reconcile

Abuja - The reconciliatory moves by the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to reconcile the two factions of the party in Ondo state on Wednesday yielded results, reports Punch.

The factions at a meeting agreed to sheathe their swords in the overall interest of the party.

Leading members of the factions who met with Senate President David Mark at the Presidential villa, resolved the grey areas that had caused division in the party following the defection of Gov Olusegun Mimiko to the party.

The two factions are the one led by the sacked Chairman of the party in the state,, Ebenezer Alabi and the new members led by Governor Olusegun Mimiko.

It was agreed that the Mimiko-led new PDP should produce two out of the three candidates contesting the senatorial seat in the forthcoming general elections while the Alabi-led executive would produce one.

Leaders of the party in the state that attended the meeting  included Mimiko, Bode Olajumoke, Olusola Oke, Kingsley Kuku, Gbenga Elegbeleye, Senator Ayo Akinyelure, Sen. Boluwaji Kunlere, Kolawole Ademujimi, Jimoh Ibrahim and Sola Ebiseni.
