One killed as party supporters clash in Osun

Osogbo - One person was feared dead on Monday in Ile-ife, Osun State, when supporters of both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) clashed in Ile-Ife, Osun State, reports NewsDay.

The clash started when some persons believed to be supporters of the PDP launched a violent attack on members of the ruling APC who were celebrating the victory of Governor Rauf Aregbesola in last Saturday’s governorship poll in the state.

The PDP supporters were resisting attempts by the APC members to block the road with canopies during their celebration of Aregbesola’s victory in the election.

Scores of people sustained various degree of injuries during the clash as both sides made use of broken bottles and other dangerous weapons.

Normalcy was, however, restored by soldiers who took control before it could degenerate.
