Benin City - Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has alleged that some politicians in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state are importing mercenaries to register in their wards to boost their numbers for the forthcoming elections, reports Leadership.
Oshiomhole, who spoke on Monday while monitoring the ongoing Continuous Voter’s Registration exercise, said busloads of mercenaries were imported into the state and were given cover by suspected soldiers.

He said he finds the development very worrisome because whole idea of the registration was to give opportunity to those who didn’t register before to do so and not import mercenary voters.
He urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to have a way of monitoring the exercise to ensure that there are no mercenary voters.
