PDP Governors Forum to strengthen party- Tukur

21 March 2013, 09:02

Makurdi - Bamanga Tukur, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Wednesday defended the formation of the PDP Governors’ Forum.

Tukur stated in Makurdi during a courtesy visit to Gov. Gabriel Suswam that it was set up to address nagging issues within the party.

He, however, gave the assurance that the party was better positioned to clinch all the elective posts in 2015 and was not scared of the emergence of any mega party in the country.

``We are working assiduously toward clinching all the elective posts in 2015,'' he said.

He said the national body of the party had embarked on the tour of all the geo-political zones to motivate its members ahead of the 2015 elections.

Earlier, Suswam, represented by his deputy, Stephen Lawani, commended the chairman and his entourage for the visit, adding that it had further rekindled the people’s hope in the PDP.

Tukur later told newsmen that the party had no rift and described such insinuation as a figment of imagination.
