PDP accuses APC of adopting illegal means to capture Rivers State

28 August 2015, 16:22

Abuja - The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of trying to use illegal means to subvert the party’s victory in Rivers State, reports New Telegraph.

The party was responding to the reaction of the APC  to the ‎petition by 16 PDP legislators from Rivers State to President Muhammadu Buhari.

PDP in a statement on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh said the APC reaction shows its desperation to grab power through the back door  in a state where it was roundly rejected by the people.

The party said the APC’s statement was aimed at blackmailing judicial and electoral officers in the state as well as to justify the reprehensible use of the security agencies to intimidate and attempt to arm-twist them to do its bidding.

The PDP also said it is aware of the clandestine moves by the APC to capture power in other PDP states including Akwa-Ibom, Delta, Abia and Taraba States by all means, using such ploy.
