Lagos - The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has accused former President Goodluck Jonathan of contributing to the defeat of the party’s candidate, jimi Agbaje in the Aprill 11 governorship election in the state, reports Punch.
The party stated that the former President allowed the All Progressives Congress get away with a lot of illegalities during the last general elections, which ultimately led to Jonathan’s own defeat.

The party’s factional Chairman, Tunji Shelle stated this while addressing party supporters at the inauguration of the constituency office of Mr. Dipo Olorunrinu, who represents Amuwo Odofin constituency in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Shelle noted that if Jonathan had not allowed the APC to get away with these illegalities, Agbaje would have won the governorship poll fair and square
He added that the loss of jonathan at the presidential election also affected Agbaje as the effect of the loss spilled over to Lagos, thereby causing Agbaje’s defeat.
