Abuja - Professor Israel Owate spoke for 16 Rivers
State People Democratic Party governorship aspirants after they urged the screening
committee to dismiss petitions alleging that some are not members, Newsday
The governorship aspirants and committee screening assembly met over the
weekend Port Harcourt at the South South zonal secretariat. The petition was allegedly sponsored by one of it's won members.

Owate has asked for the screening committee to disregard this and was saddened
that one of it's members could make such allegations.
The National Working Committee had certified some members of the PDP and
issued the interest and nomination forms. This resulted in the state collecting
N3 million and N2 million respectively.
