Ado Ekiti - The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State on Wednesday resumed their war of words over unpaid salaries of the state civil servants, reports New Telegraph.
The Governor-elect, Ayodele Fayose, appealed to the outgoing governor not to use the funds meant for the payment of workers salaries to pay government contractors, describing such act as robbing Peter to pay Paul.
But the state Commissioner for Information, Tayo Ekundayo, described Fayose’s statements as ill timed., saying the the arrangement the government had with banks to pay salary was thwarted by the Peoples Democratic Party
Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, the governor-elect alleged that the Fayemi administration was owing workers months of salary arrears and entitlements.
