PDP bemoans Edo State budget approval

01 October 2014, 10:35Augustine Osayande

Abuja - The Edo State Chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the signing and approving of 2015 budget into law barely a week after Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, and Speaker of the House of Assembly, Uyi Igbe, submitted it.

According to a statement by the Publicity unit of the party, the act by Oshiomhole and the All Progressive Congress “faction Speaker” Igbe was “criminal.”

“The 2015 bubget has been approved and signed into law barely a week it was submitted to the APC faction of Edo State House of assembly. What a show of shame by the governor's puppet, never in the history of Nigeria has a state budget been so hurriedly approved and signed into law by a less than two third majority,” the ruling party said.

It added that “posterity will judge the governor and the speaker.”
