PDP blasts Fashola over N78m website

13 August 2015, 14:03

Lagos - The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has slammed former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola for spending N78.3m on the upgrade of his website,  www.tundefashola.com, reports Punch.

The party said it was unfortunate that the governor could spend that amount of taxpayers’ money on a website that would serve him exclusively and not the people of Lagos State.

The Lagos State Publicity Secretary of the party,  Taofik Gani, who spoke on behalf of the party, noted that such reckless spending was what caused the debt profile of the state to rise to over N419bn under Fashola.

He said the revelation has now vindicated and buttressed the claims of the party that Fashola is not a saint.

He noted that instead of giving Fashola a political appointment, President Muhammdu Buhari should start making moves to probe the former governor.

He added that if Buhari fails to do this in the light of the fresh evidence of corruption against Fashola, Nigerians would not take his anti-graft war seriously.
