Enugu - Senator Ifeanyi Ararume on Tuesday in Enugu State became the first governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-east to secure his clearance.
43 other aspirants were screened and subsequently cleared to run for the December 13 party primaries in the five states of South-east.

The party’s National Vice Chairman in the zone, Austin Akobundu , disclosed this after the exercise, stating that the exercise was successful as the aspirants conducted themselves well.
Other aspirants cleared by the committee included Senator Chris Anyanwu (Imo), and Senator Ayogu Eze (Enugu).
Others were Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Chairman House Committee on Maritime (Enugu State), Chief Eugene Odo, Speaker, Enugu State House of Assembly, and Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha.
The 43 aspirants did not immediately get their clearance certificates as they were advised to wait a little.
