PDP constitutes caretaker committees for Adamawa, Ebonyi

20 November 2014, 17:31

Abuja - The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has constituted caretaker committees to pilot the affairs of the party in Adamawa and Ebonyi states.

While Ambassador Umar El Gash and Senator Zik Sunday will serve as caretaker chairman and secretary of the Adamawa chapter of the PDP, Dr. Ifeanyi Onodugo and Chinwe Mba will serve as chairman and secretary of the caretaker committee in Ebonyi State.

The national working committee of the party had on Tuesday dissolved the party executives in the states for “grave and inimical conducts and acts capable of disorganising and undermining good conduct of the party in the states.”

The sacking of the state party executives is connected to their conduct of ward congresses in the states, as the party frowned over their drafting and publishing of the result of their congresses against party directive which stipulates that only the national organising secretary can do so.

According to a statement by the national publicity secretary of the party, Olisa Metuh, “the Adamawa State caretaker committee has Ambassador Umar El Gash as chairman and Senator ZikSunday as secretary while that of Ebonyi State has Dr. Ifeanyi Onodugo as chairman and Mrs. Chinwe Mba as secretary.

“Furthermore, the NWC restates that the party will not hesitate to discipline any individual or any organ that might decide to constitute unlawful disorder in the process of our primaries and party administration.
