Sokoto— The Peoples Democratic Party in Sokoto want a Federal High Court to declare the seats of 27 members of the state House of Assembly vacant, after they defected to the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Vanguard reports.
The defected lawmakers are being sued by the two remaining PDP lawmakers in the state House of Assembly; Ibrahim Magaji Gusau and Al-mustapha Isa Wurno.
The suit, which was filed on Thursday, listed the 27 defecting members, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the Inspector General of Police and the National Assembly as defendants.
The plaintiffs also asked the court to stop the salaries of the 27 defected members.
