PDP defers finance committee inauguration

04 September 2013, 07:25Augustine Osayande

Abuja - The ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended the inauguration of the party's National Finance Committee.

The party could not give reasons for the deferment of the process, which was scheduled for Wednesday.

Olisa Metuh, National Publicity Secretary of the party, disclosed this in a communiqué following the end of the National Working Committee (NWC) meeting held at the party secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday.

"The NWC, after its meeting directed that the inauguration of the National Finance Committee of the party earlier scheduled for 4th September 2013 be put on hold. A new date will be announced for the inauguration," Metuh msaid.

Meanwhile, has invited all the state and zonal youth and women leaders for a seminar scheduled for Thursday at secretariat of the party in Abuja.

While an agenda was not given, it is believed the event will assess preparations for the 2015 general election.
