PDP dismisses Jonathan aide’s threats over Dickson's re-election bid

07 September 2015, 15:05

Yenagoa - The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State has dismissed the threats of a former Special Assistant to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Waripamowei Dudafa to work against the re-election bid of Governor Seriake Dickson, reports The Sun.

The party said Dudafa is not an issue in the politics of his local government, Kolokuma/Opokuma as well as the politics of Bayelsa State.

Chairman of PDP in Bayelsa State, Serena Dokubo Spiff, said Dudafa cannot determine the victory of the PDP in the state.

Spiff said the governor does not need Dudafa’s endorsement or support to win re-election as he has never supported the governor’s political ambition.

Dudafa, a former Special Assistant to ex-President Jonathan on  Domestic and Social Events, had distanced himself from an alleged directive by the former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan that all her loyalists should support the second term bid of Governor Dickson in the state forthcoming governorship election.
